The TSL Group and XEROX partner to bring Digital Printing to the Forefront of Local Industry

To highlight advancements in digital technology in the printing industry, Xerox and the TSL Group partnered as Diamond Sponsors with the Trinidad & Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce, to host the inaugural Excellence in Printing Showcase. On August 21st, 2008 representatives from thirty-seven local printers, advertising agencies, and publishers gathered at the Centre of Excellence in Macoya for a full day's events, the focus of which being presentations by international representatives from the Xerox Corporation and Electronics for Imaging (EFI) Inc. Issues addressed included the myths surrounding digital printing solutions, the profit margins that can be made through digital printing solutions, and digital solutions can be used in the efficiency of workflows and personalization of customer orders. A panel composed of several local industry leaders, financial institutions, government agencies, and special interest groups provoked a lively discussion during a luncheon round table discussion entitled, "Export and Financing Opportunities in the Printing Sector". Many valid points were raised regarding the state of the local industry, and the challenges being faced from external competition, and the inability of local operations to compete with these global competitors. The event closed with a demonstration session, highlighting the functionalities and benefits of three Xerox digital printing solutions.
